The acquisition of mental to written methods for the four operations of mathematics is a key factor in raising attainment. If children are to develop problem solving strategies to become numerate then the need to be able to use and apply the basic skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division lie at the heart of this process.

Busy Bees consists of five programmes that give opportunities to practise and embed the skills and strategies that are essential in developing the understanding and methods needed to access the four operations. Included are all the electronic printable resources and grids needed.
